Pacemaker PH12581 exhaust headers (extractors) are designed for selected Toyota Hilux and 4Runner models from 2003 onwards fitted with the 3.0L 5L diesel engine with EGR.

Featuring an interference design with mandrel-bent 42mm primary pipes, 48mm secondary pipes and a 57mm outlet, PH12581 replaces the restrictive factory exhaust manifold with a performance header designed to improve exhaust gas flow and scavenging for better torque, throttle response and engine performance.

At 4,000 rpm, the 3.0L Toyota 5L diesel engine theoretically draws in approximately 6,000 litres of intake air per minute and can expel around 18,000 litres of hot exhaust gas per minute at approximately 600°C.

Installation Tips

• Apply penetrating lubricant to manifold fasteners and exhaust connections before removal
• Remove all traces of the original manifold gasket and inspect the cylinder-head sealing surface
• Fit a new DSF052 exhaust manifold/header gasket
• Trial-fit the header and confirm all EGR connections and clearances before fully tightening the mounting hardware
• Protect the Pacemaker Blue or optional ceramic-coated surfaces during trial fitting and installation
• Check clearance around the steering, engine mounts, starter motor, transmission, wiring and surrounding components
• Check all exhaust and EGR connections after installation
• Check the exhaust system for leaks after installation
• Inspect and re-tighten the header mounting hardware after the initial heat cycles
