Designed as a performance replacement for the restrictive factory exhaust manifolds, PH12680 headers provide a freer-flowing exhaust path to improve exhaust scavenging, torque, throttle response and engine performance. This makes them well suited to street, touring, towing and 4WD applications where strong usable torque is important.

IMPORTANT – Right Hand Drive application only. PH12680 will not fit Left Hand Drive vehicles.

The standard headers are supplied in Pacemaker's distinctive protective blue finish. Ceramic coating is also available separately for customers wanting additional heat management and corrosion protection.

CAT12680 High-Flow Catalytic Converter Option

For customers fitting PH12680 headers, matching Pacemaker CAT12680L/R high-flow catalytic converters are available separately. These use a 100 CPI metallic substrate with 63mm (2.50") inlet and outlet connections and are designed specifically for the PH12680 installation.

The CAT12680 package supplied by Best Mufflers also includes 2 x Pacemaker PSA100 oxygen sensor adaptors designed to assist with catalyst-efficiency related check-engine light issues that can occur when fitting high-flow catalytic converters.

Why Good Headers & Exhaust Systems Matter

At 4,000 rpm, the 4.7L 2UZ-FE V8 theoretically draws approximately 9,400 litres of intake air per minute at 100% volumetric efficiency and expels around 28,200 litres of hot exhaust gas per minute at approximately 600°C.

Actual airflow varies with RPM, engine load, volumetric efficiency, intake restriction, camshaft timing and engine condition. These figures are theoretical values intended to illustrate the substantial volume of gas that must pass through the exhaust system at higher engine speeds.

A well-designed header and exhaust system helps manage this high gas flow efficiently, reducing restriction and improving exhaust scavenging, torque, throttle response and engine performance.
