Pacemaker PH4055 headers (extractors) are designed for Ford Falcon XR, XT, XW and XY models fitted with 302 or 351 Cleveland V8 engines using 4V cylinder heads. Featuring Pacemaker's TRI-Y design with 44mm (1¾") primary pipes, 51mm (2") secondary pipes and 57mm (2¼") outlets, PH4055 is designed to improve exhaust flow, torque, throttle response and engine performance.

The TRI-Y configuration is designed to promote efficient exhaust gas flow and scavenging across a broad engine speed range, making PH4055 well suited to classic Falcon street cars, restorations and performance applications.

Construction

Pacemaker PH4055 headers use performance-oriented tubular construction with a TRI-Y configuration designed specifically for Ford Cleveland V8 engines using 4V cylinder heads.

The standard headers are supplied in Pacemaker's protective finish. Ceramic coating is also available separately for customers wanting additional heat management and surface protection.

Why Good Headers & Exhaust Systems Matter

At 4,000 rpm, a 302ci / 5.0L Cleveland V8 theoretically draws approximately 10,000 litres of intake air per minute at 100% volumetric efficiency and expels around 30,000 litres of hot exhaust gas per minute at approximately 600°C.

At the same engine speed, a 351ci / 5.8L Cleveland V8 theoretically draws approximately 11,600 litres of intake air per minute and expels around 34,800 litres of hot exhaust gas per minute at approximately 600°C.

Actual airflow varies with RPM, engine load, volumetric efficiency, camshaft specification, cylinder-head flow and engine condition. These figures are theoretical values intended to illustrate the substantial volume of gas that must pass through the exhaust system at higher engine speeds.
