Installation Tips

Before removing the original muffler, apply penetrating lubricant to the exhaust clamp and other threaded connections. Inspect the connecting exhaust pipe and mounting points for corrosion or damage.

Check the FDR004 exhaust mounting rubbers and replace them if they are stretched, cracked or deteriorated. Worn exhaust rubbers can allow excessive muffler movement and may cause rattles or premature exhaust failure.

After installation, check that the muffler and tailpipe have adequate clearance from the vehicle body, rear suspension and surrounding components. Start the engine and inspect all exhaust connections for leaks.
