Pacemaker PH5362 Competition headers (extractors) are designed for selected Holden Commodore VT Series II, VX, VU, VY and VZ models fitted with the 5.7L LS1 Gen III or 6.0L LS2 V8, with corresponding WH, WK and WL Statesman/Caprice applications.
PH5362 uses Pacemaker's tuned Competition design with large 48mm (1⅞") primary pipes and 90mm (3½") outlets. Pacemaker specifically identifies PH5362 as suitable for modified engines and supercharged applications where increased exhaust-flow capacity is required.
IMPORTANT – PH5362 is supplied in different vehicle-specific configurations. The correct version must be selected for VT-VY Series I, VY Series II, VZ 5.7L or VZ 6.0L applications because oxygen sensor wiring requirements differ.
Does NOT suit AWD Adventra or Cross 8 models. Pacemaker PH5366 is the applicable AWD header.
Please check availability and current lead time before ordering.
Pacemaker PH5362 uses large 48mm (1⅞") primary pipes feeding into substantial 90mm (3½") outlets. The large outlet size distinguishes PH5362 from several other Pacemaker Competition Header options for the VT-VZ LS platform.
The standard Pacemaker finish uses the distinctive Pacemaker Blue heat-resistant coating, designed to withstand temperatures up to approximately 800°C.
Ceramic Coating: PHC40 ceramic coating may be available for improved heat management and corrosion resistance. Please contact Best Mufflers for current availability.
DSF138: Replacement cylinder-head exhaust gaskets are available separately.
Oxygen Sensor Wiring: The correct wiring loom configuration depends on the vehicle series and engine. Do not assume the same extension loom is suitable for every PH5362 application.
VT Series I is not an LS1 application. The LS1 Gen III was introduced to Commodore with VT Series II.
VT Series II, VX, VU and VY Series I 5.7L LS1:
Use the PH5362 L/R VT-VY Series 1 configuration. Pacemaker specifies that this version does not include or require the later-model oxygen sensor wiring loom extensions.
VY Series II Commodore / WK Series II Statesman-Caprice 5.7L LS1:
Use the PH5362 L/R VY Series 2 configuration, which has the appropriate oxygen sensor wiring loom extensions for these models.
VZ Commodore / WL Statesman-Caprice 5.7L LS1:
Use the PH5362 L/R VZ 5.7L configuration with the appropriate oxygen sensor wiring loom extensions.
VZ Commodore / WL Statesman-Caprice 6.0L LS2:
Use the PH5362 L/R VZ 6L configuration designed for the 6.0L LS2 application.
Please provide your exact vehicle model, series, engine and build date when ordering so the correct PH5362 configuration can be supplied.
PH5362: Tuned Competition Header with 48mm (1⅞") primary pipes and large 90mm (3½") outlets.
PH5363: Tuned Competition Header with the same 48mm (1⅞") primary pipes but smaller 76mm (3") outlets.
The major dimensional difference is therefore the collector outlet: PH5362 uses a 3½" outlet while PH5363 uses a 3" outlet. The correct header should be selected to suit the engine combination, catalytic converter arrangement and downstream exhaust system.
Modified / Supercharged Engines: Pacemaker specifically lists PH5362 as designed for modified engines and supercharged applications.
AWD Models: PH5362 does not suit AWD Commodore-based models such as Adventra and Cross 8. Pacemaker specifies PH5366 for these AWD applications.
Oxygen Sensor Wiring: VY Series II, VZ, WK Series II and WL applications require the correct PH5362 configuration with the appropriate oxygen sensor wiring loom arrangement.
Existing Modifications: Many VT-VZ LS-powered vehicles have modified engines, catalytic converters and exhaust systems. Check the complete vehicle and exhaust configuration before ordering.
Protect painted surfaces during trial fitting and check steering, starter motor, transmission, engine mount and exhaust clearances before final tightening.
Oxygen sensor wiring extensions vary according to the PH5362 application. Gaskets, catalytic converters, bolts and other installation components should not be assumed to be included unless specifically confirmed for the selected kit.
DSF138 – replacement cylinder-head exhaust gaskets.
Correct oxygen sensor wiring loom – required according to vehicle series and PH5362 variant.
A suitable high-flow catalytic converter and performance exhaust system should be selected to match the 90mm (3½") PH5362 collector outlet and the vehicle's intended use.
At 4,000 rpm, the 5.7L LS1 V8 theoretically draws approximately 11,400 litres of intake air per minute at 100% volumetric efficiency and expels around 34,200 litres of hot exhaust gas per minute at approximately 600°C.
At the same engine speed, the 6.0L LS2 V8 theoretically draws approximately 12,000 litres of intake air per minute and expels around 36,000 litres of hot exhaust gas per minute at approximately 600°C.
Modified and supercharged engines can move substantially more air than these naturally aspirated theoretical figures.
A well-designed header and exhaust system helps manage this high gas flow efficiently, reducing restriction and improving exhaust scavenging, torque, throttle response and engine performance.
Before installation, confirm the exact vehicle series and whether the engine is a 5.7L LS1 or 6.0L LS2.
Confirm the correct PH5362 oxygen sensor wiring configuration before installation, particularly on VY Series II, VZ, WK Series II and WL vehicles.
Because PH5362 has a large 90mm (3½") collector outlet, confirm the catalytic converter and downstream exhaust configuration before commencing installation.
Professional installation is recommended.
Pacemaker headers are covered against manufacturing defects subject to Pacemaker's current warranty terms and conditions.
All catalytic converters, oxygen sensors and other emissions-control equipment required for the vehicle must remain correctly installed and operational.
Installation must comply with applicable Australian state or territory requirements relating to emissions, exhaust noise and vehicle modifications.
