Construction

The TFG4-SS dump pipe and matching TFG4C-SS high flow catalytic converter are manufactured from 409 stainless steel for durability and resistance to the demanding temperatures and operating conditions encountered in a turbocharged exhaust system.

The 4.00" (102mm) dump pipe uses mandrel-bent pipework to maintain the internal pipe diameter through the bends.

Why Good Dump Pipes & Exhaust Systems Matter

The 4.0L engine theoretically draws approximately 8,000 litres of intake air per minute at 4,000 rpm at 100% volumetric efficiency. Once combustion has taken place, the resulting hot exhaust gases occupy substantially more volume as they travel through the turbocharger and exhaust system.

Using an illustrative exhaust temperature of approximately 600°C, this can represent around 24,000 litres of exhaust gas per minute. A well-designed dump pipe and exhaust system helps manage this high gas flow efficiently, reducing restriction and improving exhaust flow, throttle response and engine performance.
