The VN Commodore was released in August 1988 with the 3.8L LN3 V6 producing 125kW and 292Nm. Holden introduced a substantially revised L27/EV6 version of the 3.8L V6 in November 1990, producing 127kW and incorporating changes including revised induction and cast-iron exhaust manifolds.
