Pacemaker PH5384 Competition headers (extractors) are designed for HSV VF GEN-F and GEN-F2 models fitted with the 6.2L supercharged LSA V8.

PH5384 uses Pacemaker's tuned 4-into-1 competition design with 48mm (1⅞") primary pipes. Developed for the high exhaust-flow requirements of the supercharged LSA V8, these headers are designed to improve exhaust flow, torque, throttle response and engine performance.

Construction

Pacemaker PH5384 uses a tuned 4-into-1 competition configuration with large 48mm (1⅞") primary pipes designed for the high exhaust-flow requirements of HSV's supercharged LSA V8.

The standard Pacemaker finish uses the distinctive Pacemaker Blue heat-resistant coating, designed to withstand temperatures up to approximately 800°C.

Additional Options

DSF138: Replacement cylinder-head exhaust gaskets are available separately.

PH5384 is an LSA application. The 6.2L supercharged LSA should not be confused with the naturally aspirated 6.2L LS3.

GEN-F2: Pacemaker currently describes PH5384 as suitable for all GEN-F2 LSA HSV models.

PH5384 vs PH5385

Pacemaker offers two different 4-into-1 competition header sizes for the HSV LSA application.

PH5384: 48mm (1⅞") primary pipes.

PH5385: 51mm (2") primary pipes with 89mm (3½") outlets.

PH5384 therefore provides the smaller of the two Pacemaker LSA primary-pipe options, while PH5385 provides increased primary-pipe capacity for higher-output combinations.

Fitment Notes

GEN-F: Pacemaker specifically lists PH5384 for the HSV VF GTS LSA GEN-F Series 1.

GEN-F2: Pacemaker lists PH5384 for all GEN-F2 LSA HSV models.

LSA Only: Confirm that the vehicle is fitted with the 6.2L supercharged LSA V8. PH5384 should not be selected simply because the vehicle is a VF HSV.

Modified Vehicles: Many LSA-powered HSVs have modified exhaust systems, catalytic converters, supercharger upgrades or other engine modifications. Check the complete exhaust configuration before ordering.

Protect painted surfaces during trial fitting and check all clearances before final tightening.

Why Good Headers & Exhaust Systems Matter

At 4,000 rpm, the 6.2L LSA V8 theoretically displaces approximately 12,400 litres of air per minute at 100% volumetric efficiency before taking the additional airflow supplied by the supercharger into account.

Because the LSA is supercharged, actual intake and exhaust gas flow under boost can be substantially greater than the naturally aspirated theoretical displacement calculation. Actual flow depends on boost pressure, engine speed, load, tuning and engine modifications.

A well-designed header and exhaust system helps manage this high gas flow efficiently, reducing restriction and improving exhaust scavenging, torque, throttle response and engine performance.

Before installation, confirm the vehicle is fitted with the 6.2L supercharged LSA and check the existing catalytic converters and downstream exhaust configuration.
