Pacemaker PH4032 headers (extractors) are designed for Ford Falcon XA, XB, XC, XD, XE and XF models fitted or converted with 289, 302 or 5.0L EFI Windsor V8 engines. PH4032 Pacemaker Headers will fit both standard Windsor cylinder heads and GT40P cylinder heads.

Featuring Pacemaker's TUNED design with 41mm (1⅝") primary pipes and 76mm (3") outlets, PH4032 headers are designed to improve exhaust flow, torque, throttle response and engine performance.

PH4032 is designed to accommodate the different spark-plug angle found on GT40P cylinder heads as fitted to the AU II 302 Windsor.

Construction

Pacemaker PH4032 headers use performance-oriented tubular construction and a vehicle-specific TUNED design developed for Ford Windsor V8 applications using either standard cylinder heads or GT40P cylinder heads.

The standard headers are supplied in Pacemaker's protective finish. Ceramic coating is also available separately for customers wanting additional heat management and surface protection.

Why Good Headers & Exhaust Systems Matter

At 4,000 rpm, a 289ci (4.7L) Windsor V8 theoretically draws approximately 9,400 litres of intake air per minute at 100% volumetric efficiency and expels around 28,200 litres of hot exhaust gas per minute at approximately 600°C.

At the same engine speed, a 302ci / 5.0L Windsor V8 theoretically draws approximately 10,000 litres of intake air per minute and expels around 30,000 litres of hot exhaust gas per minute at approximately 600°C.

Actual airflow varies with RPM, engine load, volumetric efficiency, camshaft specification and engine condition. These figures are theoretical values intended to illustrate the substantial volume of gas that must pass through the exhaust system at higher engine speeds.

A well-designed header and exhaust system helps manage this high gas flow efficiently, reducing restriction and improving exhaust scavenging, torque, throttle response and engine performance.

Installation Tips

• Confirm the engine and cylinder-head combination before installation, particularly where GT40P cylinder heads have been fitted.
• Apply penetrating lubricant to existing exhaust fasteners before removal.
• Remove all traces of the old manifold gaskets and inspect the cylinder-head sealing surfaces.
• Fit new DSF3 exhaust manifold/header gaskets.
