Wildcat WILD034A exhaust headers (extractors) are designed for Holden Commodore VN, VP and VR  models fitted with the 5.0L / 304 Holden EFI V8 and automatic transmission with the starer solenoid on the side.

Featuring an interference-style design, WILD034A replaces the restrictive factory exhaust manifolds with larger, smoother-flowing pipework designed to improve exhaust gas flow and scavenging. Reducing exhaust restriction can improve torque, throttle response and overall engine performance while giving the Holden 5.0L V8 a stronger exhaust note.

WILD034A is designed to connect directly to the factory catalytic converters. During installation the knock sensor must be relocated to the opposite side. The headers are also designed to suit vehicles fitted with variable power steering.

Important: WILD034A will not fit VS Series III.

Why Good Headers & Exhaust Systems Matter

At 4,000 rpm, the 4987cc Holden 5.0L V8 draws in approximately 9,974 litres of intake air per minute and expels around 29,920 litres of hot exhaust gas per minute at approximately 600°C. A well-designed header and exhaust system helps manage this high gas flow efficiently, reducing restriction and improving exhaust scavenging, torque, throttle response and engine performance.

Installation Tips

Apply penetrating lubricant such as WD-40 or similar to the manifold studs, nuts and exhaust fasteners before removal. Trial-fit both headers and check engine, transmission, steering and body clearance before final tightening. Relocate the knock sensor to the opposite side as required for header clearance. Inspect the factory catalytic converter connections and exhaust hardware before installation and replace damaged or corroded components where required.
