Wildcat WILD721 exhaust headers (extractors) are designed for selected Toyota Hilux and Toyota LandCruiser Prado 120 Series models fitted with the 4.0L V6 1GR-FE DOHC petrol engine.

Featuring a tuned 3-into-1 design with 44mm (1.75") primary pipes and 57mm (2.25") outlets, WILD721 is designed to improve exhaust gas flow and scavenging for better torque, throttle response and usable engine performance. The mandrel-bent construction provides smooth exhaust flow for street, touring, towing and 4WD applications.

WILD721 suits applicable manual and automatic transmissions and is designed to retain air conditioning and power steering. Provision is incorporated for the required oxygen sensors.

Important: These headers are not a simple bolt-on installation. On applicable models the factory catalytic converters must be cut and relocated, requiring welding and exhaust fabrication.

Why Good Headers & Exhaust Systems Matter

At 4,000 rpm, the 4.0L 1GR-FE V6 theoretically draws in approximately 8,000 litres of intake air per minute and can expel around 24,000 litres of hot exhaust gas per minute at approximately 600°C.

A well-designed header and exhaust system helps manage this high gas flow efficiently, reducing restriction and improving exhaust scavenging, torque, throttle response and engine performance.

Installation Tips

• These headers are not a simple bolt-on installation
• On applicable models the factory catalytic converters must be cut and relocated
• Welding and exhaust fabrication are required
• Relocating the catalytic converters may cause the check-engine light to illuminate
• An ECU calibration / computer edit may be required after installation
• Professional installation by an experienced exhaust workshop is recommended
• Allow approximately 4 hours fitting time as a general guide
• Apply penetrating lubricant such as WD-40 or similar to the manifold studs, nuts and exhaust fasteners before removal
• Inspect the cylinder-head sealing surfaces, manifold studs and threads before installation
