Wildcat WILD227 exhaust headers (extractors) are designed for selected Toyota Corolla AE102 models fitted with the 1.8L 7A-FE petrol engine from 1994 to 1999.

Featuring an interference-style extractor design, WILD227 replaces the restrictive factory exhaust manifold with larger, smoother-flowing pipework. The design helps improve exhaust gas flow and scavenging to reduce restriction and improve torque, throttle response and overall engine performance for street applications.

WILD227 is not a complete direct-fit installation. Welding is required to connect the headers to the exhaust flex-pipe section.

Why Good Headers & Exhaust Systems Matter

At 4,000 rpm, the 1.8L 7A-FE engine draws in approximately 3,524 litres of intake air per minute and expels around 10,570 litres of hot exhaust gas per minute at approximately 600°C. A well-designed header and exhaust system helps manage this high gas flow efficiently, reducing restriction and improving exhaust scavenging, torque, throttle response and engine performance.

Installation Tips

Apply penetrating lubricant such as WD-40 or similar to the manifold studs, nuts and exhaust fasteners before removal. Trial-fit the headers and check alignment with the existing exhaust before welding to the flex-pipe section. Professional exhaust installation is recommended. Protect the painted header surfaces during installation to minimise scratching or damage.
