Wildcat WILD017 headers (extractors) are designed for Suzuki Swift SF413 1.3L SOHC 8V G13BA applications and selected related models including the Holden Barina MB / ML, Geo Metro, Chevrolet Sprint, Pontiac Firefly and Subaru Justy.

Featuring a performance Tri-Y design, WILD017 headers improve exhaust gas flow and scavenging compared with the restrictive factory exhaust manifold. This helps strengthen usable low-to-mid-range torque, sharpen throttle response and give the 1.3L engine a stronger exhaust note.

Why Good Headers & Exhaust Systems Matter

The Suzuki G13BA 1.3L engine may be relatively small in capacity, but as engine speed increases it still needs to move a substantial volume of exhaust gas efficiently.

  • At 5,000 rpm, the 1.3L G13BA moves approximately 2,600 litres of intake air per minute and expels around 7,800 litres of exhaust gas per minute (@ approximately 600°C).
  • At 6,000 rpm, airflow increases to approximately 3,100 litres of intake air per minute and around 9,300 litres of exhaust gas per minute (@ approximately 600°C).

A restrictive factory exhaust manifold can make it more difficult for the engine to clear this exhaust gas efficiently. A properly designed Tri-Y header helps maintain exhaust gas velocity and improve scavenging, allowing the engine to breathe more effectively and helping improve usable torque and throttle response.

WILD017 uses approximately 38mm primary pipes, 44mm secondary pipes and a 44mm outlet.

What type of header design is WILD017?
