Installation Tips

• Lubricate manifold studs, nuts and exhaust fasteners with WD-40 or a similar penetrating lubricant before removal.
• Remove all traces of the old manifold gasket before installing the headers.
• Inspect the cylinder-head sealing surface, manifold studs and threads before installation.
• Fit a new DSF107C gasket and use high-temperature exhaust sealant where recommended.
• Trial-fit the headers before fully tightening the fasteners.
• Check clearance around the air-conditioning components, steering, starter motor, transmission, engine mounts and bodywork.
• Protect the painted header surfaces during installation.
• Re-tighten the header/manifold bolts after approximately 500km to help maintain a reliable gasket seal.
