Hurricane HU172ST exhaust headers are designed for selected Mitsubishi Pajero NA, NB, NC, ND, NE, NF and NG models from 1983 to 1994 fitted with the 2.6L Astron petrol engine.

Australian made using mandrel-bent mild-steel pipework, the HU172STM replaces the restrictive original exhaust manifold with a performance header designed to improve exhaust gas flow and engine breathing. The combination of 1 5/8" primaries, 1 3/4" secondaries and a 2" collector outlet provides a good balance for street, touring and 4WD applications.

Hurricane Collector Design

Hurricane headers use non-protruding secondary pipes in the collector, allowing the pipes to transition over the collector cone rather than extending unnecessarily into the exhaust gas path. This provides a smoother transition through the collector and helps reduce unwanted exhaust restriction.

Selected Hurricane header designs also use merge-style collector features to assist exhaust gas transition and scavenging through the collector outlet.
