Wildcat WILD132 exhaust headers (extractors) are designed for selected Mitsubishi Pajero and Montero NM / NP models from 2000–2006 fitted with the 3.5L 6G74 or 3.8L 6G75 V6 petrol engine, including applicable EFI and GDI configurations.

The factory exhaust manifolds on these vehicles can develop cracks after years of repeated heating and cooling. WILD132 replaces the factory manifolds and base pipe providing a long-term replacement while also improving exhaust gas flow.

Featuring an interference-style design with large 1.75" primary pipes, 2.00" secondary pipes and 2.25" outlets, these headers are designed for street, touring and 4WD applications where durability, exhaust flow and usable engine performance are important.

WILD132 is designed to connect directly to the catalytic converter. Header gaskets are included, while the original catalytic converter gasket is reused where serviceable.

Why Good Headers & Exhaust Systems Matter

At 4,000 rpm, the 3.5L 6G74 V6 draws in approximately 7,000 litres of intake air per minute and expels around 21,000 litres of hot exhaust gas per minute at approximately 600°C. The larger 3.8L 6G75 V6 draws in approximately 7,600 litres of intake air per minute and can expel around 22,800 litres of hot exhaust gas per minute under the same theoretical conditions.

A well-designed header and exhaust system helps manage this high gas flow efficiently, reducing restriction and improving exhaust scavenging, torque, throttle response and engine performance.

Installation Tips

• Apply penetrating lubricant such as WD-40 or similar to the manifold studs, nuts and exhaust fasteners before removal
• Take particular care removing old manifold hardware that has experienced repeated high-temperature cycles
• Remove all traces of the old manifold gaskets and inspect the cylinder-head sealing surfaces
• Inspect manifold studs and threads and replace damaged or heavily corroded hardware
• Reuse the original catalytic converter gaskets only if they remain in good serviceable condition
• Once in place tighten the headers to the base pipe then tighten to the head.
• Check all catalytic converter connections for exhaust leaks after installation
• Inspect and re-tighten the mounting hardware after the initial heat cycles
