Fitment Notes

Short Wheelbase Only: WILD094 is specifically designed for the SWB Mitsubishi L300 Express. It should not be ordered for a medium or long-wheelbase van simply because the engine is the same.

2WD & 4WD: The Wildcat application catalogue lists WILD094 for applicable 2WD and 4WD SWB models.

Manual & Automatic: WILD094 is listed for both manual and automatic transmission applications.

4G63 & 4G64: This header is for the 8-valve 2.0L 4G63 and 2.4L 4G64 applications. Later 4G64 engines with a different cylinder-head and exhaust-port arrangement require a different header.

Because these vehicles are now older, engines and exhaust systems may have been replaced or modified. Confirm the engine, cylinder-head configuration, wheelbase and existing exhaust system before ordering.

What's Included

  • 1 x Wildcat WILD094 header/extractor assembly

Gaskets, bolts and other installation hardware should not be assumed to be included unless confirmed with the current product before ordering.

Recommended With

RBG019S – replacement header/manifold gasket.

Before installation, inspect the existing exhaust system, engine mounts, manifold studs, gaskets and associated mounting hardware.

Why Good Headers & Exhaust Systems Matter

At 4,000 rpm, the 2.0L 4G63 engine theoretically draws approximately 4,000 litres of intake air per minute at 100% volumetric efficiency and expels around 12,000 litres of hot exhaust gas per minute at approximately 600°C.

At the same engine speed, the 2.4L 4G64 engine theoretically draws approximately 4,800 litres of intake air per minute and expels around 14,400 litres of hot exhaust gas per minute at approximately 600°C.

A well-designed header and exhaust system helps manage this high gas flow efficiently, reducing restriction and improving exhaust scavenging, torque, throttle response and engine performance.

Installation Tips

Before installation, confirm that the vehicle is a short-wheelbase Mitsubishi L300 Express fitted with the applicable 4G63 or 4G64 8-valve petrol engine.

Lubricate threaded fasteners with WD-40 or a similar penetrating lubricant before removal to assist with easier removal and installation.

Professional installation is recommended. After installation and several heat cycles, inspect the exhaust system for leaks and recheck accessible fasteners where appropriate.

Warranty & Compliance

Any catalytic converter, oxygen sensor and other emissions-control equipment required for the particular vehicle must remain correctly installed and operational.

Installation must comply with applicable Australian state or territory requirements relating to emissions, exhaust noise and vehicle modifications.
