Wildcat WILD136 exhaust headers (extractors) are designed for selected Mitsubishi L200 MC and MD models fitted with the 1.8L 4G62 or 2.0L 4G63 petrol engine. The Mitsubishi L200 was also marketed as the Mighty Max in some overseas markets.

Featuring an interference-style extractor design, WILD136 replaces the restrictive factory exhaust manifold with larger, smoother-flowing pipework. The design helps improve exhaust gas flow and scavenging to reduce restriction and improve torque, throttle response and overall engine performance.

These headers require adaptation and welding to connect to the existing exhaust system. Professional exhaust installation is recommended.

Why Good Headers & Exhaust Systems Matter

At 4,000 rpm, the 1.8L 4G62 engine draws in approximately 3,600 litres of intake air per minute, while the 2.0L 4G63 draws approximately 4,000 litres per minute. At approximately 600°C, this represents around 10,800 to 12,000 litres of hot exhaust gas per minute. A well-designed header and exhaust system helps manage this high gas flow efficiently, reducing restriction and improving exhaust scavenging, torque, throttle response and engine performance.

Installation Tips

Apply penetrating lubricant such as WD-40 or similar to the manifold studs, nuts and exhaust fasteners before removal. Trial-fit the headers and check alignment and clearance before adapting the existing exhaust system. Welding and exhaust fabrication are required, so professional exhaust installation is recommended.
