Hurricane Headers HU110STM are designed to suit Mazda 929 models from 1973 to 1984 running 2.0L round port engines. These Australian-made headers improve exhaust flow, reduce backpressure and deliver stronger throttle response compared to restrictive factory manifolds. Ideal for restorations, daily drivers and mild performance builds.Click image for larger view.
The Hurricane HU110STM headers are a practical performance upgrade for classic Mazda 929. Designed to replace the heavy and restrictive factory exhaust manifold, these headers allow the engine to breathe more efficiently, improving throttle response and overall drivability.
At 4000 rpm, a typical 2.0L engine draws approximately 4,000 litres of air per minute. Once combustion occurs and exhaust gases reach high temperatures (around 600°C), this expands to roughly 12,000 litres per minute exiting the engine.
The factory manifold restricts this flow. A properly designed header like the HU110STM allows exhaust gases to exit more efficiently, reducing backpressure and helping the engine perform the way it should.
Q: Will these fit all Mazda 929 models?
A: They are designed for Mazda 929 1974-1984 models with round port engines. Always confirm engine type before ordering.
Q: Are these a direct bolt-on replacement?
A: Generally yes for standard vehicles, however older vehicles may have had modifications so fitment should always be checked.
Q: Is the gasket included?
A: No, the matching gasket is HG110 and is available separately.
Q: Are these mandrel bent?
A: No, these are a press-bent header design.
Q: What size exhaust should I run?
A: These headers use a 45mm outlet, making them ideal for systems in the 1.75" (45mm) range for best balance of torque and flow.
