Wildcat WILD037 headers (extractors) are designed for applicable Mazda 929 HB and Mazda B2000 models fitted with the 2.0L FE SOHC 8-valve petrol engine.
Featuring an interference 4-2-1 design for street performance applications, WILD037 provides a performance replacement for the original exhaust manifold and is designed to improve exhaust flow, torque, throttle response and engine performance.
The supplied WILD037 specifications list 38mm (1½") primary pipes, 44mm (1¾") secondary pipes and a 57mm (2¼") outlet.

Wildcat WILD037 headers are Australian Made and designed around applicable rear-wheel-drive Mazda installations using the 2.0L FE SOHC 8-valve petrol engine.
The header configuration uses approximately 38mm (1½") primary pipes feeding into 44mm (1¾") secondary pipes with a 57mm (2¼") outlet.
A replacement exhaust manifold/header gasket is available separately – see RBG037S.
Please contact Best Mufflers if you require advice on fitment, gaskets or exhaust components required to complete the installation.
IMPORTANT: Confirm that the vehicle is fitted with the 2.0L FE engine before ordering. The Mazda F2 is a 2.2L engine and the F8 is a 1.8L engine and should not be treated as 2.0L FE applications.
Mazda 929: Australian application data identifies the HB-series Mazda 929 from 1984-1987 with the 1998cc FE SOHC 8-valve engine. Carburettor and fuel-injected versions of the naturally aspirated FE were used during this period.
Mazda B2000: Australian application data identifies the 2.0L FE SOHC 8-valve engine in the B2000 from approximately 1985. Earlier B2000 models used the older MA 2.0L engine and should not automatically be included in this application.
Engine Identification: Check the engine code before ordering. The FE, F8 and F2 are different-capacity engines and should not be grouped together simply as 2.0L engines.
Because these vehicles are now approximately 40 years old, engine conversions and modified exhaust systems are common. Confirm the engine and existing exhaust configuration before ordering.
Gaskets, bolts and other installation hardware should not be assumed to be included unless specifically confirmed before ordering.
RBG037S – replacement exhaust manifold/header gasket.
Before installation, inspect the existing exhaust system, manifold studs, engine mounts and associated mounting hardware.
At 4,000 rpm, the 2.0L FE four-cylinder engine theoretically draws approximately 4,000 litres of intake air per minute at 100% volumetric efficiency and expels around 12,000 litres of hot exhaust gas per minute at approximately 600°C.
A well-designed header and exhaust system helps manage this high gas flow efficiently, reducing restriction and improving exhaust scavenging, torque, throttle response and engine performance.
Before installation, confirm that the vehicle is fitted with the applicable 2.0L FE SOHC 8-valve petrol engine.
Lubricate threaded fasteners with WD-40 or a similar penetrating lubricant before removal to assist with easier removal and installation.
Professional installation is recommended. Check the existing downstream exhaust configuration before fitting, particularly on vehicles with previous exhaust modifications.
After installation and several heat cycles, inspect the exhaust system for leaks and recheck accessible fasteners where appropriate.
Any emissions-control equipment required for the particular vehicle must remain correctly installed and operational.
Installation must comply with applicable Australian state or territory requirements relating to emissions, exhaust noise and vehicle modifications.
