Electric exhaust cutout valve kit allows you to control the exhaust sound level & back pressure these are commonly known as a bi-modal [bimodal] exhaust valve or exhaust control valve [ECV]. The benefit using the electronic valve over the vacuum versions is the fast response time. Similar exhaust valves are use on quite a few late model high performance vehicles including BMW, Ford FPV, HSV Holden, Subaru Wrx.
