Wildcat WILD055 headers (extractors) are designed for the Hyundai Excel X3 fitted with the 1.5L G4FK DOHC 16-valve engine. Australian vehicle application data places this engine in the Excel X3 from approximately 11/1997 to 06/2000.
WILD055 features a Tri-Y interference design developed for street performance applications, using 41mm primary pipes, 44mm secondary pipes and a 57mm outlet.

Wildcat WILD055 headers are manufactured from mild steel and use a Tri-Y configuration with progressively sized primary and secondary pipes leading to a 57mm outlet.
Wildcat headers are manufactured in Australia by the same Australian manufacturer responsible for Genie headers.
Please contact Best Mufflers for current availability and information regarding compatible exhaust components or optional finishes where available.
Fitment Note: These headers are for the later G4FK DOHC 16-valve engine. Earlier Excel X3 models fitted with the 1.5L G4EK SOHC 12-valve engine use a different header application.
Confirm that the vehicle is fitted with the 1.5L G4FK DOHC 16-valve engine before ordering. This is particularly important with X3 Excel models because earlier vehicles were also produced with the 1.5L SOHC engine.
Lubricate threaded fasteners with WD-40 or a similar penetrating lubricant before removal to assist disassembly and installation.
Wildcat WILD055 header assembly. Exhaust manifold/header gaskets are not included unless specifically supplied or shown with the product.
RBG055 exhaust manifold/header gasket is the gasket application specified for WILD055.
The 1.5L engine theoretically draws approximately 3,000 litres of intake air per minute at 4,000 rpm at 100% volumetric efficiency. Once combustion has taken place, the hot exhaust gases occupy substantially more volume as they travel through the exhaust system.
Using an illustrative exhaust temperature of approximately 600°C, this represents around 9,000 litres of exhaust gas per minute. A well-designed header and exhaust system helps manage this high gas flow efficiently, reducing restriction and improving exhaust scavenging, torque, throttle response and engine performance.
Professional installation is recommended. Check the exhaust system alignment, mounting points and surrounding clearances during installation.
Lubricate threaded fasteners with WD-40 or a similar penetrating lubricant before removal. After installation and several heat cycles, inspect the system for exhaust leaks and recheck accessible fasteners where appropriate.
Installation and use must comply with applicable Australian state or territory regulations, including requirements relating to emissions equipment, catalytic converters, exhaust noise and vehicle modifications.
