At 4,000 rpm, a 2.4L four-cylinder engine theoretically draws in approximately 4,800 litres of intake air per minute and can expel around 14,400 litres of hot exhaust gas per minute at approximately 600°C.

Installation Tips

• Apply penetrating lubricant such as WD-40 or similar to manifold studs, nuts and exhaust fasteners before removal
• Remove all traces of the old manifold gasket and inspect the cylinder-head sealing surface
• Fit a new RB209S exhaust manifold/header gasket
• Trial-fit the headers and check all clearances before fully tightening the mounting hardware
• Inspect manifold studs and nuts and replace damaged or heavily corroded hardware where required
• Check clearance around the engine, transmission, steering and surrounding components
• Protect the painted header surfaces during trial fitting and installation
• Ensure oxygen sensors, catalytic converter and emissions-control equipment are correctly retained where applicable
• Check all exhaust connections for leaks after installation
• Inspect and re-tighten the header mounting hardware after the initial heat cycles
