Wildcat WILD048 headers (extractors) are designed for selected Ford F100 and Bronco 4WD models up to 1979 fitted with 302ci (4.9L) or 351ci (5.8L) Cleveland V8 engines using 2V cylinder heads.
WILD048 features a Tri-Y design using 44mm primary pipes, 51mm secondary pipes and a 57mm outlet, providing a performance-oriented replacement for the restrictive original exhaust manifolds.

Wildcat WILD048 headers are manufactured from mild steel and feature a Tri-Y configuration with 44mm primary pipes feeding into 51mm secondary pipes and a 57mm outlet.
Wildcat headers are manufactured in Australia by the same Australian manufacturer responsible for Genie headers.
Please contact Best Mufflers for current availability and advice regarding compatible exhaust components or alternative header applications for your Ford F100 or Bronco.
Australian F100 Note: The locally sourced 302 Cleveland V8 was introduced into the Australian F-Series range during 1974. The 351 Cleveland was subsequently offered in later models, with engine availability varying according to model, year and drivetrain configuration.
WILD048 is the 4WD application and suits Cleveland 2V cylinder heads only. Confirm the engine, cylinder-head configuration and drivetrain before ordering.
Some models may require modification to the header outlets due to gearbox cross member changes. This is specifically noted in the Wildcat/Genie application catalogue, so these headers should not be described as an unconditional direct-fit installation.
Because these vehicles are now several decades old and commonly modified, check the engine, cylinder heads, transmission, chassis, steering, suspension and existing exhaust configuration before ordering.
Wildcat WILD048 header assembly. Exhaust manifold/header gaskets are not included according to the current supplier listing. Other installation components should not be assumed to be included unless specifically shown or stated with the product.
RBG047S – gasket reference specified in the Wildcat/Genie application catalogue for WILD048.
A 302ci (4.9L) Cleveland V8 theoretically draws approximately 9,800 litres of intake air per minute at 4,000 rpm at 100% volumetric efficiency, while a 351ci (5.8L) Cleveland V8 theoretically draws approximately 11,600 litres per minute.
Once combustion has taken place, the hot exhaust gases occupy substantially more volume as they travel through the exhaust system. Using an illustrative exhaust temperature of approximately 600°C, this represents roughly 29,400 litres per minute for the 302 and 34,800 litres per minute for the 351.
A well-designed header and exhaust system helps manage this high gas flow efficiently, reducing restriction and improving exhaust scavenging, torque, throttle response and engine performance.
Professional installation is recommended. Trial-fit the headers before completing the exhaust connection and carefully check clearance around the X-member, chassis, steering, transmission, suspension and drivetrain.
Because the manufacturer specifically warns that some models may require header outlet modifications, establish the required clearance before making permanent exhaust connections.
Lubricate threaded fasteners with WD-40 or a similar penetrating lubricant before removal to assist with easier removal and installation. After installation and several heat cycles, inspect the system for exhaust leaks and recheck accessible fasteners where appropriate.
Installation must maintain adequate clearance from steering, suspension, transmission, chassis, fuel and brake components. Any chassis or crossmember modifications must comply with applicable Australian state or territory vehicle modification requirements.
