The Berklee BS0655 Muffler combines a straight-through absorption core with an integrated rear resonator chamber. Exhaust gases flow through a perforated internal tube surrounded by acoustic packing, allowing sound energy to dissipate while maintaining excellent exhaust velocity and low backpressure.

Directional Installation (Important)

This muffler features an asymmetrical internal design with a rear chamber and is therefore directional.

• Correct flow direction: Perforated core → packing → rear chamber → outlet
• Inlet side: Straight perforated core section
• Outlet side: Chambered section

Installing in the correct direction ensures optimal exhaust flow, reduced turbulence, and improved sound quality. Reverse installation may still function but can increase and alter exhaust tone.

How This Muffler Works

Exhaust gases pass through a perforated internal core, allowing pressure waves to expand into surrounding acoustic packing where high-frequency noise is absorbed. The rear chamber then helps tune and smooth the exhaust note, reducing harshness and drone.
