The original factory muffler is excellent quality and flows very well. the owner of this car wants a little more noise on accelleration.
The factory muffler is bi-modal, [active exhaust] it has a built in vacuum controlled valve in one of the muffler outlets. This valve is designed to be closed on low rpm to increase tourqe then opens on mid to high rpm for top end power.
Note: if the vacuum hose is disconnected from the valve, the valve stays in the open position.
This muffler also has a vibration dampener fitted, its positioned on the left tailpipe as it exits the muffler |

To work correctly this modification takes a while to do, the bypass pipe needs to be spliced into postion which allows maximum air flow. |

the vibration dampener removed allows access to for the new muffler bypass pipe to enter directly into left the tailpipe |

as the the bypass pipe enter's the tailpipe we again splice the two pipes together to ensure maximum air flow |

entry & exit holes at this stage are a guide only & will be finalised later |

The entry and exit holes when finished need to be 90mm x 60mm |

Once both entry & exit holes are made the bypass pipe is completed and tig welded then given the final touches for perfect alignment |

After quite a few hours the bypass pipe and the entry and exit holes are perfectly aligned, then tack welded into position. |
