Hurricane HU174STM exhaust headers (extractors) are designed for selected Holden Gemini TX, TC, TD, TE and TG models from 1975 to 1985 fitted with compatible 1.6L, 1.8L and 2.0L engines.

Manufactured in Australia using mandrel-bent pipework, HU174STM headers replace the restrictive factory exhaust manifold and are designed to improve exhaust flow, throttle response and engine performance.

The headers feature 1.50" primary pipes, 1.75" (44mm) secondary pipes and a 2.00" outlet. Installation is a cut-and-weld application, allowing the header outlet to be connected to the vehicle's existing or upgraded exhaust system.

Hurricane Headers use carefully formed pipework and collector designs to provide a smooth transition for exhaust gases entering the collector.

Installation Information

HU174STM is a cut-and-weld application. The existing exhaust system will need to be cut and the 2.00" header outlet professionally connected to the exhaust system. This also allows the installer to accommodate vehicles that have previously had their exhaust system modified or replaced.

Installation Tips

• Lubricate manifold studs, nuts and exhaust fasteners with WD-40 or a similar penetrating lubricant before removal.
• Remove all traces of the old manifold gasket before installing the headers.
• Inspect the cylinder-head sealing surface, studs and threads before installation.
• Use a suitable new gasket and high-temperature exhaust sealant where recommended.
• Complete the cut-and-weld exhaust connection only after checking header and exhaust alignment.
• Check clearance around steering, transmission, starter motor, suspension and bodywork before final tightening.
• Re-tighten the header/manifold bolts after approximately 500km to help maintain a reliable gasket seal.
